James Fester is an educator, author, and advocate for experiential learning with more than 20 years of experience in education. In addition to his current role as a magnet coordinator, he has spent the last 15+ years working for a number of different organizations including PBLWorks, The National Park Service, and MGIEP-UNESCO to help educators and school leaders across the globe put in place the conditions for learner-centered, experiential learning. He is the author of two books published by ISTE and regular posts on Substack. His writing and curriculum work has been featured by Edutopia, National Geographic Education, The BBC, and many other leading education organizations. He currently focuses on connecting classrooms with museums, national parks, historic sites, and other authentic learning environments through The National Park Classroom.
