Brittany R. Collins

Author & Director of Education at Write the World

Brittany R. Collins is the author of Learning from Loss: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Supporting Grieving Students, as well as 60+ articles in outlets such as The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Education Week, The Hechinger Report, Inside Higher Ed, and more. For two years, she worked as a Contributing Editor on the Edutopia team, where she enjoyed learning with and from teacher-writers.

Currently, Brittany serves as the Director of Education at Write the World, a non-profit dedicated to closing opportunity gaps in literacy education worldwide. She has also created curricula and educational programming for students and teachers through Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, Columbia University, PBS Learning Media, New York University, Smith College, Boston University, and Race Project Kansas City, among other schools and organizations.

She holds an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, Social-Emotional Learning, from the University of Virginia and has two books forthcoming: Leveraging AI for Human-Centered Learning: A Practitioner's Guide to Culturally Responsive and Social-Emotional Classrooms (Routledge, 2025, with Dr. Marlee Bunch) and How We Bear It: Women with Invisible Disabilities on Learning to Live Within Limitation (represented by Janklow & Nesbit Associates).
